PLAYERS SELECTED FOR REPRESENTATIVE INTER PROVINCIAL MATCHES
8.14 Should three or more players eligible for selection to a SAFA Regional team be required to participate in a representative match arranged by or through SAFA or the League, then any fixture of the club affected due to take place within 48 (forty eight) hours of the representative match shall be postponed, provided that the club involved has applied in writing for a postponement of such fixture and has been granted written permission by the League for such postponement.
8.15 If a player has been selected for or is in training for a representative fixture, the League may grant or refuse the player permission to play in the club match.
8.16 A player shall not be allowed to play for his club 48 (forty-eight) hours before a representative fixture in which he is due to play.
9 TEAM SHEETS
9.1 Clubs shall submit duly completed team sheets to the referee at least forty five minutes prior to the start of play. Such list to include:-
9.1.1 the full names (family and first) of the eleven players (as well as their registration number) starting the game;
9.1.2 the full names (family and first) of the seven substitutes (as well as their registration number) which may be utilised during the game;
9.1.3 the full names of the club officials positioned in the technical areas for the game.
9.2 If a player’s name appears on the team sheet he shall be deemed, for the purposes of these Regulations, to have participated in the match, save that a club may at any time before kick-off, amend its team sheet by substituting any player, if its opponents have lodged a protest in terms of these Rules and Regulations relating to the use of any player who is allegedly unregistered, suspended, banned, fraudulently or improperly registered, in which case the said substituted player shall not be deemed to have participated in the match.
10 ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS
10.1 Every player shall be properly registered according to the procedures for registrations and transfers contained in Regulation 14 hereof before he may play or be named on the team sheet in any match of the League.
10.2 Identity cards shall always be available for inspection by the referee prior to the match. No player shall be allowed to participate without a valid card. The referee shall demand to see all playersÕ cards in the presence of both team representatives and in the presence of the respective players, prior to the commencement of the match.
10.2.1 It shall be misconduct for a club to field a player without a players registration card, alternatively failing to make a valid players registration card available for inspection prior to the match. A club found guilty of this offence shall forfeit any points earned in such game, but no points shall be awarded to the opposing club.
10.2.2 Should an entire team be unable to produce a valid player identity card for each player due to unforeseen circumstances, the team may file an affidavit at the nearest South African Police Services station attesting to the identities of the said players. The said affidavit shall only be acceptable to the League if accompanied by a photograph of each player.
10.3 It shall be an offence to submit any false information when registering a player. The onus shall be on the player’s club to ensure that the information submitted is accurate in every respect, and that all requirements are adhered to. The issuing of a card or the filing of an affidavit (as outlined in 10.2.2.) does not absolve the club of this responsibility.
