1 COMPOSITION
1.1 All clubs affiliated (inclusive of their officials, servants, or duly authorised {express or implied} representatives) together with all amateur players registered for the purposes of participating in the South African Football Association Castle Regional League (hereinafter referred to as “The League”) shall be bound by the Rules and Regulations contained hereunder. 1.2 The South African Football Association Castle Regional League is presently made up, amongst others, of amateur teams previously registered and playing under the Rules and Regulations of the Special Member of the South African Football Association, namely the National Soccer League. 1.3 The teams referred to in 1.2 above are situated in the under-mentioned Provinces of the Republic of South Africa:-Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga, Northern Province, Free State, Kwazulu Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and Northern Cape. 2 TROPHIES AND AWARDS 2.1 The winners of the South African Football Association Castle Regional League may be awarded promotional trophies. These trophies may be retained by the winning clubs and thereafter returned to the South African Football AssociationÕs head office in the same condition as they were presented, by no later than 28 February of the year following the year in which same were presented. The clubs may also be presented with miniature trophies which they shall retain permanently in accordance with any sponsorship agreements specifically relating to their divisions. 3 STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITION The SAFA Castle Regional League will be played in streams as determined by SAFA, and as per the technical rules set out hereunder. 4 PARTICIPATION AND ENTRY 4.1 Promotional Divisions: 4.1.1 The Promotional Divisions/streams shall consist of a minimum of sixteen (16) teams per stream during each season. 4.1.2 The relegation of teams at the conclusion of the season of the League playing under the immediate jurisdiction of SAFA shall occur as outlined hereunder. 4.1.2.1 The two teams at the bottom positions of the stream log shall be relegated to the lower leagues. 4.1.2.2 Two teams from the respective lower leagues in the regions shall be promoted to this league. 4.1.2.3 Depending on the relegation from the Second Division, the League shall reciprocate with the same number of teams to be relegated. 4.1.3 The Competitions Committee shall determine which clubs shall be promoted from the lower stream to the Regional League in terms of a format laid down by the Committee. 4.2 Teams shall submit the prescribed entry and information documents together with the prescribed fees to the SAFA Regional League by the specified deadline date. 4.3 On entering any competition run by the League, clubs undertake: Should a club withdraw or be withdrawn from any of the divisions referred to in 4 above, before the start of the season, the League Manager may allow the runner up team of the lower League in a geopolitical province of the stream to be promoted. 4.5 It shall be compulsory for all clubs entered into to the League to participate in all competitions organised by the League when so directed by the League. |
